Well my reshipment of fish arrived! They were all alive!! (Yay) Although, one of the girls had a bunch of cotton bally thingies all over her body, so I went ahead and isolated her and giving her a salt bath..it also looks like she has swimbladder(?) possibly cause she's often tilted towards her side when at the bottom...maybe its just one of her habits I haven't fully observed her yet..

one of the other females has absolutely awesome coloring...but she is getting mean towards the other girls in the tank...

the free male he sent me has awesome coloring as well..he's a super delta but ive found that he has a habit of biting his own tail...i thought he was a super delta double tail for a second (if they even exist :shout: ) but yea, he's the one im giving to my girlfriend...and he has a NICE base color, nicer than the dt i got.. XD lucky girlfriend.

but the meanest one ive put in a hurricane globe for now to keep her from the other girls, cause this one...OHHHHHHH MAN, anytime i try to let her out, she bullies EVERYONE...including the biggest female in the tank...this girl is medium sized, she is feisty...will she settle down or is this just built into her personality?

and...my first girl betta(chuck)...her fins are getting really weird...i just noticed today how bad they were getting...i am not sure if i should classify it as finrot or old age..but you guys tell me..her fins are starting to fade in color..and...they look as if they are chipping away...or, better to describe it, her fins suddenly look like they've been burnt or struck by lightning...and they are progressively getting worse and worse. and she isn't as active as she used to be..(this one used to be the bully)

but yea, ever since i've added the new girls together in the tank, the tank has been active in chasing and everything...i hope its just cause of the new faces

When bettas tilt to their side its a sign of a swollen swim bladder, could be caused by constipation, parasites or physical trauma. Fast her for a few days and see if she improves at all!

Sounds like a fietsy one!! Sometimes being mean is just hardwired into their personality. What tail type is she? Be careful she could turn out to be a he, lol.

That definatly sounds like fin rot

"Symptoms:-

Betta’s fins and/or tail seem to be getting shorter and shorter. Or they seem to be falling apart and dissolving. There may be a darker color (or a reddish one) to the edge of the betta’s fins/tail. He may be still active and eating normally, or may have stopped eating, fins may be clumped, color may be pale.

Treatment:-

Do a full water change and use a medication such as Neosulfex, Bettamax or Melafixor. an antibiotic such as Tetracycline. Once rot stops and fins start growing back you can switch to Betta-Max and use it for a month. Betta-Max will not hurt your fish and also has vitamins, etc. that help the healing process. A small pinch of aquarium salt or rock salt will also help the healing process."

its a delta, and im pretty sure its not a male because she has the white dot thingy (ovariliscuparlkjewak??) at her belly.

Yes David, I have a very feisty one too! Good luck with yours! Mine use to be sweet and shy. The problem came when I started a 10 gallon for her and some other fish. I added her first, and she was in there for about a week before any of the rest. So this tiny little girl all by herself in a 10 gallon, and she took ownership quickly! Once I added fish twice her size, she decided she was still the boss and I finally removed her into a 2.5. She's side by side with a male twice her size and flares at him constantly, and I finally took everyones suggestion and put paper between them to give HIM a break to finish making his bubble nest. She's now VERY aggressive! And, I thought she may be a male except for her little white thing (oviposter maybe? I tried to google it and a porn sight came up..I'll just call it her "white spot"). Haha
