I'm abit ashamed of it, i recued a OB Peacock, but anyway,

I was at a LPS(City Farmers for anyone in the area) and i was looking at some Vallis for my Mbuna tank and a small kid was nagging his mum to get a fish, so he gets the fish eventually and was holding it in a bag, then screams"This isn't the fish i want" and bit a hole in the bag and poured the fish out! he picked it up and was about to throw it across the room(probably) and i grabbed his arm, took the fish out of his hand and asked the lady(complete idiot) to get me another bag. The fish was tottaly stressed out so i got some Stress coat for him and poured it in the bag. It wasnt seriously injured and only has a few tail cuts. The pet shop let me have the fish for free.
It's settled in nicely and i still have some heart in me so i'm not going to cull it. I have to admit, it looks kind of good in the tank. I will post pics later.

oh, and for the record, im against hybridization in my own tank and will never cross breed a fish or sell a hybrid.

Congratulations for stepping in. Too bad we can't stuff that stupid kid and his mom into a tank. Anyway, the OB is a well established variety and very popular and you have no reason to feel bad for having one just because they don't occur in nature. The important thing is that you, unlike some people I've seen around here, aren't ignorant enough to go making your own hybrids and thinking you've done something special. Enjoy the fish.

Thanks for the support Freddy

I gave the kid a nasty look and mumbled something rude under my breath as i walked out, and as i did i heard the mother give the boy a ear full :p
I decided not to do anything further as the kid was only 7/8

If my seven year old ever acted that. I would give him a good whipping. I raised them to have respect for living animals. I think that is the most important thing that anyone can do, I am glad you was there

You shouldn't feel a bit shamed about rescuing him. That seven year old sounds like he's a spoiled brat who gets anything he wants and when he doesn't get his way, he makes sure he does.

Beautiful fish, Dwarf_Dude!! I wouldn't be ashamed of him a bit. I'm just glad you were around to rescue him.
