A friend had some Barbs they didnt want any more but seem ideal for my S.E. Asian 125 Liter biotype.

She only had 5 and they are tiny about half and inch long, I have no idea how old they are but love the markings of them. The only other thing in the tank right now are 8 Zebra Danios and 8 white danios I think are Leopard Danios again unwanted

Lols I wasnt too happy with my friend who bought a 125 Liter tank then simply didnt' bother to do much more with it.

The main point of this question is at this size if I buy a few more Neon Golden Barbs to have as a shoal and the new Barbs are bigger, will they eat the ones I just rescued ?

Ans of course I took the tank off my friend when she offered.... I have found space but it kinda annoying when people set up a tank then can't be bothered to look after it  and any idea how old they are, The rescued fish are nice and settled down now in a cleaned up tank with filter media from a cycled tank !

Now I have another tank to fill :p

I know golden (schuberti) barbs, never heard of golden neon barbs but they seem to be variations of the same species. As long as the new barbs you buy aren't big enough to eat the smaller ones you should be ok. They will normally average out to the same size.
