I'm no expert on this type of fish, but surely they need room to turn around? It must be like living in a locked 10 foot caravan.

yes, they need a MUCH larger tank!!!

55 gallon plus.

that looks like a 30 gallon or something, i'm no good at converting.

doubt it will do any good but there no hurt in trying!

He says he also has a bristle nose(This also needs a rather large tank)
He says 1 guppy(Theese should be kept in groups of at least 5)
and 1 golden barb(Once again they should also be kept in groups)
2 PArrot cichlids )These need a MUCH LARGER tank)

Can this guy go any more wrong?

I was tempted to email seller and suggest that they sold fish separately to someone who can accommodate them, but I suspected I might just get a cybermouthful, so I hoped that by drawing attention to them on here, someone might be able to buy them and put them somewhere more appropriate!

i jus said the fish should be rehomed as the tank was far too small.

Hopefully a concerted effort might make the seller reconsider offering this as a package, I'd hate to think that someone would buy and continue to maintain it as a 'set-up'.

Thanks for your concern but they seem pretty happy to me especially as they do lay eggs and they dont do that if they are un well or un happy!maybe you can buy them and make yourself feel happier

You're spot on. Clearly this person does not see that the urge to reproduce is overwhelming; but that successful rearing of young depends on optimum conditions for ANY species.

I guess if they are selling it, they are not bothered either way.

Anyway, look on the bright side - can you imagine that tank with parents AND baby parrot fish?
