Fish Addict
I won an aquarium on eBay - 60 litre Fluval with 5 fish (2 Angels and 3 Neons). And with a Chavvel substrate
The 'one lady owner' was lovely but she obviously did not have a clue. She had had the tank for two years and from what I have gathered, she did a 100% water change every 6 months or so
The most worrying part was a carrier bag full to bursting with various meds
Anyway, my wife had nipped down the the LFS earlier and picked up a lined polystyrene transport box. I put half of the tank water into it along with the fish. The water was filthy! Full of sand and other muck. Syphoned off the crud when we got back so it is pretty clear now.
I am leaving them in the transport box over night with a heater in - the poor things were down to 15 degrees when I collected them - I don't want to move them again at the moment.
The Angels have perked up a little and have partaken of a flake or two.
I have two spare tanks at the moment so I will be setting up the 30" bow front for them tomorrow using water from my other 30" tank and a couple of media panels from my Fluval (note to self: I must get another Fluval 3+).
All in all, I think the rescue mission has so far been fairly successful. Pics to follow tomorrow
