Hey all,

I know barley anything about reptiles. One of my spare lights has a reptile bulb in it says 5.0 UV. This is safe for an aquarium right?

I personally don't see an issue, don't know why it should heat the water any more than an aquarium bulb. UV shouldn't be an issue as already said if you have glass plates it won't pass through otherwise I doubt that much UV will do any harm.

I use a Repti-Glo 2.0 in my boas tank and I'd be happy to use it in my fish tank, its the one closest to day light that they do and it should work just fine, like wise I've used spare aquatics bulbs in vivs.
