Recently my tank cracked and water went all over the floor, i started a topic in this is you want to read about it, but the hole back glass piece has a crack in it, and i was hoping to repair it if possible, i was thinking of taking the whole back peice and replacing it with a new one,
Can someone advise me on what i need to do and buy to repair it,
Help would be much appreciated. Thanks
The back peice is 36x21x12 inches, don't know if this helps

Hello,

I personally would fully disassemble the tank and rebuild with a replacement sheet of glass.

See http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/401461-repairing-a-tank/ for some info.

I've seen too many "partial" repairs fail over time to recommend any other method. You've had one flood... why risk another?

It's actually very easy to do... it just takes a bit of time!

EDIT: Update to my post in the above link. I now sometimes no longer use silicone eater. I just remove the inner bead of silicone and use thin nylon fishing line as a "cheese wire" (use a "sawing" motion to cut through the joins between the glass pieces). Wear gloves when doing this!!

Just ask here if you have any questions.

Good luck!
