If you had an empty room that you could set up any way that you wanted for your fish room....what kind of ideas do you have for this kind of project?
I have been searching the net for fish room info, as I have lately been toying with the idea of redoing my own fish room. Found lots of good pictures and many good ideas. I know several of the members here also have fish rooms, just wondering if you have anything to share that works out really good for you, stuff that average Joe Aquariumguy might not think to add.
My plans are actually to start from scratch at this point. Nearly three years ago, when I started this room, I only had about 6 tanks from the house we just moved from to put out there. I am now up to 40. But I think that with some re-arranging and pre-planning this time, I can put my available space to much more efficient use (I'm not out of room, but it just looks "thrown together"). I have used the workbenches and cabinets that were already out there for stands, and there is a lot of wasted space. The first couple of racks that I built have the bottom row too close to the floor, so syphoning is rather slow going. So, basic common-type stuff like that. Also, I am going to hopefully have a water line running out there before this is over (I currently use the garden hose in nice weather, 5 gallon buckets in cold weather...most weeks I do about 100 gallons worth of water changes minimum
), also a decent source of heat (using space heaters now).
So, as you can see, pretty much any and all suggestions would be welcome...from basic heating advice and plumbing suggestions to how you build your tank racks and how much space between rows.
