Well I had a lot of fishes in my 10 gallon when I started with this tank a year ago. Throughout that period my tank welcomed a lot of fishes and never had any problems with their health(except when a few of my fishes killed each other because some were wounded). I decided a few days to give away all my fishes except a few. I gave away a 4 inch Blue Gouramie, 4 inch pearl Gouramie, 3 inch Pearl gouramie, and 2 Austrailian Rainbows that were 3 inches. All these fish that I gave away I had for a long time(except the Austrailian Rainbows). They never got sick and always maintained their bright colors with a lot of hard work and good diet. I myself never allow one of my fishes to die. But in the past week my male swordtails died from what I expect to be old age. When I bought him 9 months before his death he was big(2 1/2 inches). He always was very happy and healthie. So one day I wake up and find him on the aquarium bottom dead. I quickly tested the water and saw that everything was ok. Also he never was sick and never got sick before so I assume he died of old age. I will really miss him. After my swordtail died my female guppie got a body fungal infection. So I saw the water parameters were fine. So I am thinking what could of caused this. She was not under stress, there was no temperature increase or decrease and she had a good diet. So I started to treat her with Maracyn-Two. But after the treatment there was no change. So I realized that the medication(Maracyn-Two) does not treat Fungal infection. So I quickly got Maroxy and I was to late to do so and she died :rip: . But the good news is she left me with about 35 fry and I will keep some to continue the family(I use to own the mother of the guppy who gave me these fry). The thing is about me is I buy fish when they are small and sell them when they are big.

So I am planning to buy fish that will not grow big to avoid getting heart broken when I have to sell fish that I get attach to. These are the fishes I am left with currently. 1 Female Guppy, 1 female swordtail, and 1 Female Praecox Rainbow. This is what I am planning to have after I add more fishes. 12 Cardinal Tetras, 3 Female guppys, 1 Male Guppy, 3 female Swordtails, 1 Male Swordtail, and 4 Praecox Rainbows. Many people may think this is too many fishes but I disagree. I have kept a lot of fishes in my 10 gallon over a long course of time and had no problem in keeping them. I am also thinking of adding about 2 or 3 shrimps. So I want you people on TFF to help me pick Shrimps that are friendly with the the list of fishes I am planning to have. Hope that explains everything about my 10 Gallon Renovation.

What was the question? Or were you just stating somthing?
Well to clear things up with all that writing these are my questions. What shrimps will go well with the list of fishes I am planning to have? I know the answer to this question but just curious. Will all the fishes on my list get along with each other? Also just to say another reason why I disagree about my list of fishes not being a problem is the following. I have a aquaclear 70 and I know it has a strong gph but my other previous fishes never had a problem with it. I clean my tank frequently to avoid the problems of overstocking. I also change my water often(once a week I change 10-15% minimun). So I know that all these fishes would live fine and healthie for a long time as I have seen with my past experiences of me keeping many fishes in a 10 gallon tank.

He's stating that he is stupid :p .

Seriously dude, you may never have had any problems, but i just dont think its fair on the fish. You can keep those fish in that tank if you buy them small, and change them over to a bigger tank as they grow up. I keep less fish than that in my 16 uk gal, but i have a synodontis, 4 red aye tetras(get to 4") and a sailfin pleco in there as well as 4 WCMM, 4 black neons and 2 marbled hatchet fish, so i cant really talk. Thing is, im going to upgrade to a 50 gal tank sometime within a year or maybe a bit longer(as soon as i move rooms) :) .

Anyway, good luck with the tank :) , and i hope you continue not to have any problems :good: .

I am not stating I am stupid :grr: If you read many books about keeping fishes you can see you can keep many fishes in a 10 gallon if they are taken well care of. Its all depends on how good of a filter you have because this many fishes on a regular filter wont be able to thrive because not good enough water quality. But I have a strong filter and I am planning to buy fishes that dont grow over 2 inches with the exception of the swordtails.

Hi, how many fish's are you planning to keep in your 10 gallon?...just try not to overstock your tank like a underground station...Best Regards, Thuggerz

I just read that your planning to add 24 fish to your existing 3 into a 10 gallon which is CRAZY!. How whold you like it if you had 27 people living in your bedroom with you?

Well let me just say that I am going to have 24 fishes with the 3 I already have. I know It may look overcrowded but with these fishes It wont look as if it is. Most of my tank is 12 cardinals which are very small. Most icthologist(scientist for fishes) say that you can have a overcrowded tank as long as you have a good filter and you maintain great water parameters. I will have no problem with that. Also you have to consider the biomass these fishes produce which is not a lot. So my aquaclear 70 will have no problem dealing with it. I have had about 24 fishes in my 10 gallon tank before and they were healthie and happy. They lived for a very long time before I sold them because they grew to big. So you are saying if you have happy healthie fishes, great water parameters(includes temperature), and a good diet that is bad just because I have a lot of fishes.
