hi all,

i am in process of changing my tank from a 120lt to 200lt.i currently run a rena smart heater on 12/16mm pipe all ok.

is it possible to run rena smart on the larger 16/22 pipe work?

its just i have been given a tetratec 1200 (result!) which i am going to use and just want to make sure it can be connected and wont restrict flow.

i am planning to use two 150w rena heaters, one each end and very possibly use one of my current externals along with the tetratec 1200.

i cant use the rena connector as i mount my tanks in a wooden frame and the screw cap on the connector gets in way of the frame.

on my 12/16mm i used a jbl external connector.going down my lfs shortly to get a 16/22 fitting.

it good to hear you have your running on 16/22 so at least its ok to do so.

does anyone know if i can run rena smart heaters fully submersed so that temperature dial is fully under water?

its just my tank is deeper than the length of the rena heaters

thanks

I'm not aware of fully submersing being a problem, I've regularly done this with mine. They have an auto-off sensor if the water level gets too low, so I keep mine connected to the electric supply 24/7, even during water changes.

thanks for that

i have set them up now so that when i get water in both of my rena heaters will be fully submersed.just got to re wash my sand now!!
