Hi does anyone know how to get water marks off the outside of a glass tank?

Have tried neat vinegar and no can do, they're too stubborn. Obviously wary of going 'too' chemical due to fish inside even thou it won't go inside if you get me.

Any ideas?

Kettle desclaer is what I use but as you say need to be careful not to contaminate the tank. Sensible precautions is all that's needed though.

Im not sure what to use but when cleaning any glass i always a stanley blade. Cheers

I use a paper towel (or newspaper) and a diluted version of my cycling ammonia on the outside...  CRYSTAL CLEAR in a few seconds.  Obviously, you want to be very careful not to drip any into the tank, but I've NEVER had a problem, and no surfactants so there is no chance of contamination.   If a drop of the ammonia does get into the tank, it is already diluted and my water volume is so big, its not a real concern.  Plus, what else would you use such a large amount of 9.5% ammonium hydroxide to do?  Ammonia is a great glass cleaner!

Small spray bottle with a 1:10 dilution of the ammonia, and I give the paper towel/newspaper a spritz, then wipe on to the glass.  Quick, easy and no streaks or spots!

Funny you should mention this. I bought some tetra aquarium wipes today which can be used inside and outside of the aquarium.

Cleaned outside of tank earlier with these and once dry wiped over with kitchen paper towels and my tank looks like a 1080p HD screen lol. Try them out.

Thanks, that's great. Tried vinegar as they clean my windows so well! Will give these suggestions a try.
