O ok, I was just wondering since I see people complaining about high nitrates if you had them ways to remove them. now I know thanks.

I'm not sure the nitrate removal sponges are any good, they are designed for freshwater Juwel tanks.

The best way to keep nitrates under control, is good tank setup/maintenance:-

Don't overfeed
Don't overstock
Good circulation/flow in tank 20x per hour min
Decent skimmer
Clean substrate with gravel vacuum/syphon
Bacteria living deep in LR converts nitrates to nitrogen (harmless)
Weekly water changes
Use of decent RO/DI water
Good Clean up Crew
removal of dead creatures/leftover food

:good:

Thanks that's what I plan on having.

I have a question, does having a HOB filter count for the circulation part, because if it does I have 40x per hour.

It does, although the actual flowrate through an HOB is RARELY what its rated at ;). Even still, that kind of flow is no problem for your tank :good:
