Removing Fish Temp

Hi guys,

Im changing from a gravel based to planted type setup for my plants, im planning on removing my fish and putting them in a holding area, a big bucket with a heating in it, how long will they last without having access to the main filter and pump, the bucket is filled from the tank

it all depends on how many fish are in a bucket!

I would say about 10 guppies sized

they should be fine as long as heated for an hour say!

They could last for days so long as you check for ammonia/nitrite and if present do a water change.

Your problem will be the filter dying off if it is not getting an ammonia source to keep the bacteria fed.
