removing algae

Is there a true alge-eater that stays small and is not really aggressive? I have a thin film of greenish-brown stuff growing on my tank walls and wonder what would be good to remove it. A fish? A snail? Any ideas??

The-Wolf (I think) has a pinned post on small algae eaters. Generally otos, BN's. SAE's too I think. But its best to eliminate the cause of the algae.

I keep about 10 of them in my 20 gallon planted tank and they seem to keep the algae under control.

You could try lowering the nitrates in the tank water or add more plants to compete with the algea (never heard of a plant loosing this battle)
