We decided to remodel our house. This means taking out all the old tile. And anyone who has done this knows the dust that it creates goes all over the house and lasts months to settle.

Anyone have any ideas on what i can do to help keep the dust away from my fishtanks? or will it not be bad enough to worry?

Also, both of my fishtanks, 10g and 46g are on the tile. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to move the fishtanks without emptying it? Thanks

To stop the dust getting into the tank just cover them with blankets.
As for moving the tanks without emptying them sorry no suggestions on that.

If you need to move the tanks to get all the old tile up, then just move them to a room with a door and try to keep it closed as much as you can to cut down on the dust before you start. Also its not a good idea to move a tank with water in it, not only is it heavy but any twist or bend in the glass will make it shatter.

Get several 5 gallon buckets and dump about 50% of the water from your biggest tank first and spread the fish out between the buckets then have a couple strong men to carefully lift the tank out into another room, then refill the tank and put the fish back in (but don't forget to unplugg your heaters and filters from the tanks so you don't ruin them), then do the same with the 10g.

thanks, the buckets sound like a great idea. hopefully everything turns out good.
