Ok everybody,... here's this little problem of mine. I woke up this morning to find the (pieces) of a cory, littered across my 90 gallon tank. Although I do not know how it died, it may have been a bactericl infection. A few days ago I observed that it was very, very pale, but thought nothing of it because my cory cats usually "pale out" and return to normal in a day or two. I'm worried that if it did have one, all the fish that chewed it up just got it. Should I treat with a round or two of melafix? In the tank now is:
• 4 Silver Dollars
• 2 Severums
• Black Ghost Knife
• 2 Skirt tetras
• 2 Cory cats (Said to be pandas, but I believe they are not. Maybe peppered corys.)
On another note, will melafix kill my benificial bacteria? 'Cause I can move both bio-wheels to another tank.
Thank you for reading this, and for your replies. :rip: for my little cory cat

Need water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, going pale is a sign of stress and desease, did the cory look bloated and lay to oneside, also had the barbels shortened.

How big are the severums, dollars and bgk? If big enough it could have been a tasty snack.

Alright, Amm-0 NIT-0 Nitrate- 25 not too sure about ph, do not have a test kit. but I'm pretty sure that's not what did it, I've had the cories for about a month and a half. the Cory did not at all look bloated, he didn't look skinny either, he looked normal, and his barbels were regular length.

Severum 1 is about 4 inches, severum 2 is about half that. The biggest dollar is about 3.5 inches, and the BGK is about 5. They might have just eaten it, but due to the state of the poor thing when I got him out of the tank, I can't tell you. he was missing his eyes though... poor thing. :-(

By the way, you figure I ought to get rid of the other two? (GIVE THEM BACK TO THE LFS, not flush them or anything)

You could black knife fish i think even need larger tanks then 90gal, don't know anything about them sorry.

Really? I trust you completely Wilder, but I got from this site (and several others) that a 55 was the bare minimum for one. I'll keep it in mind though.... I'd hate to see my little knife go, but if it is really needed, I will absolutely do so. I try to do as much research on the fish I want to get as possible, and I figured 90 gallons would make it right at home.

Just watch the fish for now and try and see if you can see a culprit.
