Refurbished

I found out yesterday that Apple.com sells refurbished laptops, iMac's, iPods ect. Well, I was wondering, do you think they are any good? You would think that since they had a defect in the beginning , that they still have one. But then again, why would Apple risk it's reputation by selling bad products? What's your view?

When i had problems with my iphone apple replaced it with a refurbished one and ive not had any problems with it since.

They're more or less new, it's just the case etc that isn't replaced as long as it isn't defective, all of the dodgy parts have been replaced, I would buy a refurb over a new one anyday.

That's what I was thinking, but my grandma and everyone where like "its refurbished for a reason" and what not. This is my Parable for it:

You buy a new car, and you drive it off the lot, and you automatically lose several thousand dollars from it. Then, you sell it back, and the dealer has to repaint something on it. It is technically, refurbished, and a lot cheaper. But the car is still in great shape.
