Its been about a week now since i took my 3 clown loach and the 3 spot gorumai back to the lfs, so i did my weekly water change(inc gravel clean) and was amazed at how little poop there was in the gravel. I knew there would probably be less because the fish that replaced the other 4 are alot smaller but there are more.
I took out 30% and there was so little waste it made me wonder if i should do my water chanes perharps every 10days instead. I have quite a few cories and i know that they can get bacterial infections from dirty gravel so i dont want to do anything unnessary but i just thought as there was soo little poop it might be less stressful for the fish if i do water changes less frequently. What do you think?
54litre tank with 2pandas 2 albinos 1 lepord 1 bronze 1 female betta and 8 neons.

Its possible to do this. Tetra do a medication for your tank which is applied weekly which apparently keeps water safe for 6 months.

There is no substitute for regular weekly water changes. You should do a good gravel vac and small water change. 10% to 15% will be enough. Stay away from chemicals. They won't eliminate the waste.
