redtail shark & common pleco

i have a common pleco in a 55gal community tank right now (maybe 6 inches or so) and want to get a redtail shark will they compete for food or not bother each other, i heard redtail sharks when put in tanks with clown loaches become "freinds" with them. is this the same with the pleco?

Do you mean a Red tailed black shark? If so, Yes they will live with each other very happily. Mine get on great and never seem to bother each other at all.

Well red tailed black sharks and ruby sharks dont mind plecos, i put a few wafers in the tank, the plec gets one the sharks get one and the rest of the fish tussle over the last one! However if you mean red tailed cat NO NO NO u dont want that monster in any form of tank other than species tank!

You mean a species pond.... those get to be 6 feet long.

I keep a Red Finned Shark with a number of Plecos with no problem, the Shark will only attack bottom dwellers of similar shape and size normally.
