 my redeyed tetra started losing weight about three weeks ago and ended up half the width of the others. he stayed on his own all the time and eventually died on sunday. now one of the others is showing the same symptoms. can anyone help please?

what do you feed them? Did you use dechlorinator in their water? Do they eat the food? Do they have any physical or Behavioral symtoms? Are your fish discolored? Try using stress coat and aquarium salt. They may be stressed.
Here is one physical symtoms that might be what your fish has:
emacitation, hollow belly, possibly sores/Tuberculosis/Hexamita

To be quite honest I would avoid the lfs, I would listen to these guys here who actually KNOW what they are talking about. :good:
Also research these things yourself there is a sea of knowledge on the web
