Can a baby red tailed shark stand up for himself against a baby angel? Because my angel even tries to eat my 1.5" long bristle nosed guys.

The Black bodied, Red tailed shark only gets to be 5" long

Its not realy a question of wether it can stand up for itself, you don't realy want to have any fish with a fish that has a tendancy to be agressive and bully others. The RTBS will spend most of its time in a cave or sheltered area of the tank as they usually do, but RTBS's have a reputation for becoming terotorial and agressive when they mature so you will have to watch him carefully too- personally i'd separate the angel if its been agressive/nippy towards your other fish.

I wish I could separate it, but as of now I only have 1 tank

How many gallons is the tank, plus what other fish do you have and how many.

Yes, answer that question. If the tank is large enough, get one more angel as lone angels can become terrors once mature. You also shouldn't have angels in less than a 29 gallon and RTBS do best in a 20-30 minnimum as well. For both, it helps to heavily plant as well as providing caves and hiding places. Both fish become relatively aggressive once mature but can actualy get along ok if the tank's big enough. If your tank is not large enough for either fish or if you have other fish in with them, it is best to return the fish to your LFS (don't expect your money back BTW).

I have 2, 1.5" bristle nosed catfish, one 1" angel, and then I want a 1" red tail. I know it is too small, but for xmas I will be getting a 40g which would be big enough for them all.

If the tank isn't big it can make them more aggressive, is there plenty of hiding spaces for them.

Umm..okay...My angle fish is bullying my other same size angle that I got today

Angels, being cichlids, can get aggressive & territorial. The new angel is seen as a threat to the old angel's territory.

I would take the old angel out, & keep him/her in another tank or a large bucket for a couple of hours while I rearranged the tank decos to create new territories & remove the old ones. Let the new fish get accustomed to the newly redecorated tank, & then add the older angel. Adding more plants or other decos will help by providing more hiding places.

If that doesn't work, try arranging the decos to provide a sort of divider. After that, a real divider would be the thing to do if one of the fish is really being harassed or torn up.
