hi folks, I have just purchased my first ever red tailed shark and to be honest I am rather woried for this little critter. The problem is this the red tail well its not so much red as a bit pink and the black scales well they just look like a poor shade of grey. Do I have anything to worry about or will this fish at some stage begin to look the way that it should do, black body and red tail.
please help put my mind at rest.
many thanks

I find that all of these sharks look this way in the store. Mine definately looked like that, now she is jet black and fire red.

To me that is one of the rewards of this fish, bringing it to its full potential! :D

well then my friend I do hope mine turns out the same as yours, can you tell me how long this actually took.

i checked the water only last night and it turns out to be more than acceptable and ok for the fish. i only purchased this fish 5 days ago so hopefully it will adjust well to my tank and flourish.

I got my fish from my lfs and it was grey with a pink tail and after 7 days in my tank it went back to black with a beautiful red tail. They are also a good indication when water readings are slighly out. ( just watch their colour)

They can be aggresive once they get past 3 inches in sixe, they are very terettorial.
