Red Tail Cat Ill

blimey - thats decieving - he looked bigger :)

something is not right and I'd says its nutrition related - something is wrong internally (as wilders has suggested)
Its un likely that a fish will stare itself but try other foods - we have to vary what our plecs get or they get fussy and wont eat it.

I've never had to but have you tried garlic? its known to help fish want to eat - you'd have to have a search for how to use it (crushed and rubbed on his food I guess)
I'd also try something different - and on a controversial note possibly some umm... "live food"

No probs, iv had a million and one lectures on RTC owning and how i need an 8 foot tank like now god damn it!! (it would be good for playing spot the fish in i guess :) )

the thing is he was eating fine then the marks came out and he stopped, to begin with i thought he may have been internally in pain once he had ate something, the amount of food he usually puts away is unreal. Prawn is always a fail safe with him he cant get enough.

garlic i may give that a try just to get him back eating.

Live food he loves, but i dont want to get him used to it.

im still not convinced that not eating is whats causing the problem, id say it was more the problem is causing him not to eat.

I would issolate him and add this med with anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
You must increase aeration.
http://www.flubenol.co.uk/

im in central scotland,

i have increased aeration, will get on the flubenol and med in the morning.

am i best also carrying on with the melafix?

Do you have a bacterial med besides melafix.
Can only order that flubenol med online.

melafix and methyl blue are all i have at the moment.

Carry on with the melafix for now.
You will need to buy that internal bacteria med by interpet.
Good luck.
