I'm getting worried. Our 46 gal bow front tank has had cloudy water for a couple of weeks now. Regular water changes about every 4 days and adding cycling bacteria have not helped to clear it up. Other than the water being cloudy, the water paramaters are fine. The tank has been up and running for about 2 years. However, my tinfoil barbs are getting red streaks on there scales.

Any info you can offer would be appreciated, like what it is and how I can treat it.

Thank you.

Septicmia, can you post test results in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, you will need an to treat with anti internal bacteria med.

well I just tested the water and here are the results for the tests that I have

pH 6.6
Nitrite 0
Amonia 0

I don't have a nitrate test kit right now sorry.

Hope this helps.

That's fine carry on with water changes and treat the tank with anti internal bacteria med, good luck.

How many tinfoil barbs do you have, and how small are they? You may simply need more filtration. After two years the tinfoils must be busting the seams of that tank!
