Hey guys i have some red rocks, i think they are called turf rock....
Can i use this in a community tank??? it won't lift the ph up will it?

do you mean tuff rock?
if so it is mainly pummice and is therefore unsuitable for tropical freshwater but maybe ok for marine or chiclid setups.

Yea i think it's tuff, but i heard thats ok for community. I even seen it used is this not true??
it's called Tuffa rock and yes, it will raise the pH in your tank.

As The Wolf says, it would be fine for a Lake Malawi cichlid set up (because that natural enviornment has a higher pH) but i've not heard it of it in community tanks before.

Personally wouldn't try it myself but its up to you.

I know what I ment :p

that is to say not suitable for "std" tropical freshwater setups
(I do not consider any chiclid set up to be "std")

mental note make myself clearer in the future
