Hello, I'm new to the forums so sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section. I didn't find anywhere else that would be appropriate.

I have a 10 gallon tank with 10 fish total. 5 are red platys and 5 are gold barbs.

One of the smaller red platys, I believe she's female, is white on her belly but they're not spots. She was like this when I bought her, and I looked online and she might be mixed? ...

She's been kind of scraping her belly on the shell we have in the aquarium. None of the other fish have any white patches, though. We've had the tank for about 2 weeks.

Here's a picture of her:

I just want to know if she's sick or something, she's acting pretty normal otherwise. Thanks!

Also her poop is white, but I think all the fish have white poop. I feed them tropical flakes and sometimes freeze dried blood worms.

I don't see the white marks  I see a red platy with a white belly and face.
Regarding the scraping her belly, I don't know why she would be doing that but fish sometimes rub themselves off objects or plants (flashing) in the tank if somethings wrong. When my tank got ich, they would rub themselves off the plants.

Oh yeah, that's what I mean, all the other ones are just red but she's partially white. I was just wondering if it's normal :)

I had another red platy that was sort of white (but seemed more like a wound) on her head, and she died yesterday :( ...

Platies can come in a wide variety or colours and colour patterns :)
Oh that's not good, sorry to hear that. When I had platies, one of them had a white scab sort of thing on her head from my cories slate cave. It never went away.

oh, thanks for the info :) white poop is normal though, right?
Yeah, I'm not sure why she died... she seemed to be pretty active and happy :(

I have always thought white poop is a sign of internal parasites I could be wrong though. When a fish is heavily pregnant and about to drop fry they can have a really thin clear or white stringy poop. Mines all have before they dropped anyway but that's hours before they drop.

Yeah, I googled it and that's what I got but then there are other people who say that it's normal... @_@ so I'm not sure. It's not like REALLY thin (the picture is above) but most of them have white poop, occasionally it'll be brown....
