hi anyone know any nice red aquarium plants that grows quite fast doestn tneed co2 and can survive on 2.2wpg
i want one to accompanie my water wisteria any ideas anyone???
thanks

You might want to look at rotala rotundifolia, its a very fast grower and can turn a quite attractive pink/red colour under the right light conditions.

Depends on the scale you want. I had a red tiger lotus with 1wpg in my 15-gallon tank. It grew beautifully with really deep red, almost pearlescent leaves, stunning. Main issue was that even when the larger leaves were trimmed weekly it was still a bit large for my design. It may work well for you but it depends on what you want.

I have had rotala macranda under 1wpg but it was more pink than red: moving to 2.5wpg (on a larger tank than yours so not directly comparable) has now helped it develop a much deeper red colour.

just remember as per the pinned lighting topic Lighter green or red plants have less chlorophyll making the plant less efficient at photosynthesising therefore requiring more light

Alternantera reineckii. I've grown it with 1.4 WPG, with and without CO2. It should do well.
