Not sure as its anything to worry about as the fish seems to be acting normal, but one of my congo tetras seem to have got a red nose between its nose and the dorsal fin. Not noticed this before - is it anything to be worried about?

Need water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Red patches can be septicemia I would issolate the fish and get treating with a bacterial med.
If it was just the nose he could of hurt it on something, but with the red patch on the dorsal fin sounds bacterial.

My congos all have red round their 'noses', slightly round their eyes and up towards the dorsal. It may be that it was there all the time but you didn't notice. If it's not symmetrical it may be something else as said above.

Thanks htw didn't know that they have red in them areas.

They seem to be acting a bit oddly thats why i looked and saw the reddish - but yes it seems that it is symetrical so may just be that i haven't noticed it before.

Will keep an eye on them.

PH - 7.2
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrates - 25ppm approx.

Jonno.

When you say acting oddly can you describe it in more detail please.

Ok, good luck.
