red line torpedo barb with dropsy

my red line torpedo barb has dropsy. i have him in a hospital tank but he is just getting worse by the day. he won't even eat now....... I don't know what to do for him for the best. Has anyone ever had a fish recover from dropsy?

I had a betta recover but I caught it when he just started to blow up. I used kanacyn and the swelling went down, then he got a huge hole in his stomach, then it healed and now he's better

Kanaycn works great depending on how advanced the dropsy already is. It's worth a shot though, aren't rltb's kind of expensive?

I have an Apisto that recently damaged itself on a pump inlet and has done some organ damage which seems to have caused Dropsy, she is still going after three days so I will have to see how it turns out. Best of luck chali.

thanks guys......there is hope then as i caught it early on. redline torpedo barbs are £20 each in these parts......had 5 originally and only have 2 left now....only 1 that is healthy
