Hi there, yes im still having probs,i have a 4ft x 2ft community tank which houses various small to medium fish, nitrate is 10,nitrite is 0,P.H is approx 6.8.Im using Fluval 4 and a Fluval 2 for filtering, temp is 24oC.This has been up and running for 6 months.I do a 25% water change at least once a week.Ive noticed that my Zebra Danios have got red gills and mouths they look like Rummy Nose Tetras from certain angles obviously without the stripes! Ive just found 1 of my Danios floating on the top of my tank Dead of course RIP :( all its underneath was swollen and looked like it was bleeding.Ive lost a few more species in the last week but never spotted any damage or nipped fins on them?!? Ive also recently had what i belive was columnaris as verified by various people on this forum, but this seems to have gone now as no more fish look infected but i did continue using my treatment for a week after the fungus had gone. Please Help and Thanks in advance

It sounds like this to me enteric red mouth.

Enteric Red Mouth

loss of appetite
Sluggish movement (Lethargic)
Red mouth and hemorrhages on the belly
Hemorrhages of the mouth and gills
General septicemia with inflammation of the gut
The spleen is often enlarged and can be almost black in color

Hmm,they seem to be eating ok though right up until they die,ive noticed that out of the 4 that have died, prob only 1 of them just stayed alone in the plants and was off his food but i couldnt see no redness or sores but he was dangerously thin, but had never put weight on since i got him 3 months ago

Being thin can be internal parasites, or fish tb, is the anus enlarged and red and inflamed, and what does it look like when the go to the toilet, can you issolate the fish, as something is seriously not right with them.

the thin 1s are all dead now, there excrement just looks normal.no blood or unusual colorings, ive had loads of different probs since them red eyed tetras developed the columnaris inf, unless they had other disease too? they were all ok<then after introducing them into my tank they suddenly developed rotting mouths and gills

Sounds like you have a bad bacterial infection in your tank i would be tempted with everything going on to strip it down, i would sterlise the gravel, do some water changes, and add a bacterial med to the tank, turn temp down so the bacteria dosn't mulitply as fast.
Does the tank have a strange smell to it.

I would also look at this article just to be sure.

Yes i was debating if to strip the tank out and desinfect everything and see how i go,i need to do sumat they look fine i cant see any parasites,wounds,torn/ragged fins, fungal inf they all got weight on them (i.e not thin)they all look normal but who knows!
