Red Eyed Tetras

My red-eyed tetras are strange... i bought them a day ago, and they pretty much stay in the same place and kinda "jerk"... what i mean by that is that they like swim but they berely move, they move quicky, like if they had a twitch or something... they eat and everything... are theyok?

my stats are

amonia- 0
nitrite- 0
nitrate- 10
ph- 7.5

ps i have 2 cories, 2 mollies and 4 algea eaters that are perfectly ok....

Hi,IMHO Red Eyed Tetras are very shy fish and need to be in a group of at least 6,if they are in a lesser group they will hide away in your plants or decor.Ive kept them since starting up and they are very quiet but do attack/nip other smaller fish.I do belive it is boredom if they dont have enough tankmates,Oh and yes they do jerk each other quite a lot,its like saying "Hey your in my space,move over"

ok thats probably it, i have only 4 red eyed tetras... i guess i need at least 2 more. btw, does anynody have a suggestion for other tetras that are pretty hardy (no neons please!) tha can add a colourful aray of color to my aquarium? any suggestions will be accepted.

try some Glowlight tetras or Cardinal Tetras(same as neons almost but hardier),Blue King Tetras look nice when they catch the light..the list is endless,Pristella Tetras,Albino Glowlight Tetras see what i mean
