Hey guys. Was at my lfs today buying some suplies. Picked up a breeding pair of Kribs and some nice angels. Whilst I was there I noticed in the corner of my eye a white/pink/orange type looking fish, definately a cichlid. During a conversation I was having with the owner, I asked what it was and he informed me it was a Red Devil. Ive never really been a fan of large agressive cichlids but....i dont know...he just sort of attracted me somehow. He told me his owner brought him in because he was harassing his tankmates, and the LFS gave him 15 pounds of credit. The fish by the way, is about 4 inches with his tail. The LFS owner jokingly said that he might have him for tea, because he was being a "pain". i.e being rather rough to any tankmates he was placed with. He smirked and offered me him for a tenner. I told him the only tank I had available for him was a 7.5ft x 21" x 16" (yes i know, odd shape) mbuna tank. He told me the red devil would most likely not harm these fish since mbunas are pretty fiesty themselves. anyway i bought him. got him home. within id say hmmm....45 minutes he looked totally calm and was patrolling the tank, snatching at things in his way. some of my elongatus gave him a little chase but all settled down. an hour later i had him feeding out of my hands, eating some prawns, almost whole. what a large mouth he has. i dunno what it is about the guy, when i watch him, its like he has a personality, what a character thats all i can say.

i pretty much assume he should be ok in this tank, but a 2nd opinion would be appreciated? if something bad was to happen i have an empty 4 foot tank ready for a disaster, but i dont see this happening? what do you guys think? btw this is the first fish i have owned of this category, ie a big aggressive swine of a fish :)
