Do they get on with other fish and do they need any special requirements?

They look nice but don’t want to upset the community..

Cheers

pretty much a big no.

They spend the majority of their time on land, so you would need to provide suitable rock of wood that broke the surface of the water, which would mean having the tank at 3/4 or less full.

Given the chance, they will use thier pincers to nip fish and eat them.

oh.....and they are also a brackish species.

It's a no no to crabs in tanks with fish.

They're generally, and in the wild, scavengers, but in the confines of a tank they usually find pretty quickly that they can catch the fish.
They also need to be able to climb out of the water, so you have to have a way for them to do that. I beleive they also prefer their water slightly brackish.

Specialist, species onl,y set up for them is what I'd suggest if you want some; they don't grow very big (about 2" max), so you could have one or two in quite a small tank.

Thanks ZoddyZod and fluttermoth

That’s knocked that idea on the head, sounds like they are very mischievous – no room in my tank for that!

no experience with crabs, but i rescued this guy from Clawed Shrimp

i don't want to imagine what a Crab would do

Funnily enough I seen two yesterday and thought they looked nice. I wouldn't put anything other than shrimp, and snails in with my fish although I will be moving all the shrimp and snails to separate tanks when the tanks are delivered. The tank I have them in was originally a snail/shrimp tank but fry came along.

They're escape artists too, i was forever finding them on top of the tank lid
