I have just set up a 55 gallon tank and all equipment and stand that i was lucky enough have off a family member for free :) iv added 3 young red belly piranhas, obviously these fish are and always will be the only fish in the tank, (only in this tank for around 6 months till i can get a bigger tank) i would like to know what would be best to feed them now and then what to feed them when they are bigger. Iv seen loads of videos on YouTube of people feeding live rats, mice and frogs to adults as well as live fish such as gold fish. Not only do i not like this idea but i also think its illegal in some places to feed live stock. What should i be feeding them and how often?? Thanks :)

i have never had piranhas myself but i would first upgrade to 6 piranhas because they will do better and i would feed them prawns and really any meaty feeds like beef heart i think they eat vegstables aswell :)

Ye i was thinking about getting 6 as my lfs sells them at a lower price in groups of 3 but i really don't have the room for the size tank that 6 would need. I could get a 100 gallon. Maybe a 125 at most but i don't think this is enough room for 6 when fully grown. Thanks for your reply and the advice on food. I appreciate any advice given :)
