Hello! I just got a beautiful little girl today, from the Walmart I work at. Oh my god, she is gorgeous! And apart from a little bit of raggedness to her fins, she looks to be in pretty good health. I'm so glad! I've never seen girls at my work, and she was only $2.25. What a deal!

Right now, she's in the 2.5 gallon kritter Keeper that I use to monitor my bettas before they go in tanks, but I don't have anything for her after.

I am thinking about maybe getting a three gallon, heated and filtered tank for her to go into. Is this a good size for a little girl? She's tiny, TINY right now, but I don't think she'll grow to be too much bigger. Looks like she's a bit of a runt, though I see no problems other than her being small.

I would like to put her in a five gallon...unfortunately, I don't have room for another. Already got two tens and a five in here! I could squish in a 2.5 or a 3...

What do you think? I'd like to be able to use the tank for a boy, too, when I move out and get room for a sorority tank, so it has to be big enough to use for a boy.

3gallon is just fine for a male or a female i believe. i have mine in 2.5 gallon...not for long though! got 10 gallon tanks!

Awsome! My two boys in ten gallons just love the extra room. And thanks!

3 gal would be fine if heated and filtered! :good:
cheers for your new girlie!!! do you have pics?

No kidding, I got a female betta from Walmart and she is one of the smallest females I have ever found! Sounds like they buy all the small fish or runts.

Here's a bad picture of her, she was hiding all the way at the back, and I had to use the zoom, lol!
