What do you guys recon a good skimmer would be for a 45g tank with a 15g sump

the sump measures 24x12x12 and have about 30" of height to play with

Thanks

P.S Im in the uk so not all makes are available

If it is to go in the sump you cant really go far wrong with a tmv v2 skim 400 I did have one but I do not have a sump and inside the tank there abit bulky but a very good skimmer is the deltec mc300 I have one top notch bit of kit. You want to get the best skimmer you can afford you can budget on other things but spend the money and get a decent skimmer.

Great advice there :good:

I got the tmv v2 skim 400 seems to be well built not sure about the pump and i have changed the inlet pipe for a modified fluval pipe its a lot more compact now.

I would look into Tunze. They skim amazingly well. You pay more, but get a lot more (as with all their products).

I use the 9010 on my large reef, and a 9005 should suit you nicely. You can either hang it in the first chamber, or get the sump mounting kit which allows the skimmer to sit in a chamber of variable height (such as the final chamber) and it will still work across a broad range of heights with no adjustment.
