What do you recommended as a good source of plant food? Root tabs, sticks? Liquid? I know various plants have different needs and different ways of feeding, but general recommendations to liquid and gravel feeding?

I have tried Seachem excel but after the initial big dose, forget to daily dose, if got into a habit of once a week after water changes would it still be beneficial? My large tank and divided tank I found these fertiliser sticks (think they are originally for ponds) that go into the substrate and have two in the 160 litre and one in each section of 90 litre. I want to up fertilisers in the main tank but want recommendations now.

The main plant I am trying to get to flourish is limnophila aquatica, it works in some places better than others. In the four way divided tank, one section is reallllly flourishing, another is doing good (coincidence these are on black sand?) and the other two not so well (white sand).

The last problem I have in the large 160 litre is random floating plants becoming uprooted, a couple of shoots thrown as they had got too knackered by filter entrapment over night. Most of the other plants have rooted but what can I add to help and do to help (partly convinced some of the fish aren'thelping). I pick dead leaves of and try to keep clear but some plants just dont want to live, others are flourishing without my interference.

Sorry a bit all over the place, would pics help?

Hiya Amy,

I used plants Alive and theygave free tablets that go under the plants, look on thier webby, they must have some to sell seperetly, if not send them an email.

They actually work and last for around 6 months! My plants look great, and grow really fast considering my lighting is only 15w :)
