Well, i'm looking for some plant food of some sort, i'm not sure what i'm after really. It's for a 5Gallon tank, that will be quite heavily planted, with DIY Co2, and 11W light over it and also a 20W spotlight sometimes. I want something that will last a long time, and was looking at Tropica Plant Nutrition 250ml, this would last me about 90 weeks, following their recommended dose, so that was quite handy, but I also came across Tropica Plant Nutrition+ 250ml, which would also last me about 90 weeks. I'm not sure what's different between the two. But more importantly, i'm not entirely sure what i'm going to need. I'm thinking of going Eco Complete for the substrate. I'm not sure what types of things I need, let alone what brands. I'm only going to be having easy to grow stem plants, so I don't think I will need root tabs for them. I'm going to be using a few plants like HC "Cuba" aswell, so i'm not sure what they require, some liquid ferts I would imagine.
Any thoughts, comments or suggestions please?

Tropica plant nutrition plus contains N and P, whereas the other one is purely a trace mix. Simple as that :)

As for substrate, eco-complete is very good, or as its a small tank you could get ADA soil, as it would work out roughly the same price and is the best on the market.

And that means what?
I sort of know what you mean, but could you explain better and which is the best? Or isn't there an answer as they both have their advantages?
I was actually thinking about using ADA substrate, but i'm not sure what. I suppose by the time I finish selling all this riccia I should have enough to buy a bag. Can you recommend one of the substrates to get? I hear some of them alter your water readings, changing the pH and giving you ammonia blooms. I like black gravel/sand myself, so if you could recommend any that colour, it would be nice. There again, i've only ever had big pebbles and then went to sand, and stuck with sand, i'm not quite sure how i'd like brown sort of gravel, like Moody has in his nano behind the rocks, that does look quite nice, there again, it's expensive.
Thanks

If you have lots of fish then dont use the + one as you will have a steady supply I nitrate.

If you have mainly plants them both products can be used with each other I think.

Summary of Tropica liquids

TROPICA PLANT NUTRITION = liquid for aquariums with few plants and a relatively large number of fish.

TROPICA PLANT NUTRITION+ = liquid suitable for aquariums with many plants in relation to the number of fish, where plants can lack nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) which otherwise would be supplied by fish excrement and food remnants.

Thanks Richard, seems like I don't need the + then.
Much appreciated, and also I will be getting most of my products from you, when I decided what I want.
