Recommended Canister Filter

Hi i have a 250 litre tank with a oscar and a bristlenose, i wanted to upgrade my filtration system. I wanted to know what canister filter you would recommend. Cheers

You need a filter that will process the water at least 5 times per hour so it should be rated at least 1250lph or about 330 gph. As for brands, Eheim seems to be considered the best by the members of this forum. I've never used them but have 2 Fluvals that have been great.

I have both Fluval and Eheim and I would recommend either. Some people trash the Fluval from bad experiences but I've had mine for around 2 years or so with no problems. The Ehiem I've had for maybe 4-5 months and it works good even with no maintanance done on it yet. Still has a good, powerful outflow and has survived an aquarium where the shell dwellers have murdered most other kinds of filters with their sand-flinging.
