Recommend Me A 4 Footer.

Im after a 4 footer. I want to know what some of the members have and wether they would recommend it or not?
It can be but does not have to be the big names. It can also be a small-time tank manufacturer.

Enlighten me.

Fluval Vicenza 260.

I've got the 180 version but ultimately the same. I like that the inlet and outlet go throgh the bottom of the tank for the clean look.

I've got the Fluval 200, its not 4 foot. Its 1 metre long. The 240 is too small, want something at least 260litres.

We've had five Juwel tanks in the family and I've been impressed with the quality so far.

The internal filter systems are OK if you have a low stock levels but the replacement sponges are expensive but the filters are easy to remove if you upgrade to or have an external system.

4 footers you can have the rectangular Rio's the smaller being the Rio240 (240 litres) or the Rio300 (300 litres old model, 350 litres new model)

You can have a curved front model the Juwel Vision 260 (260 litres) but from experience the curved "Glass" is actually some composite plastic and isn't as scratch resistant as glass.

i know they are only 200 and 240 litres but was just recommending. im gonna be getting an aquarium and cabinet off nd aquatics, they should have the size u want there. they look like really good pieces of furniture. and they do setups with 2 foot width for added capacity.

Rio 350 is probably the largest branded 4 footer you will find,
then you have the Fluval Osaka 320L

and then these three from aqua one

Regency 120 (300L)
Aquience 1200R (300L)
Aquience 1200B (300L)

My next one may well be custom as I would quite happily have it 4 inches deeper front to back and 6 inches taller than standard to increase the volume.

The only problem with these is the lighting. It does not normally come with the package or it is that overhead lighting, which I dislike. And arranging lighting can cost a lot of money.

I know what you mean about this. I want a tank that's about 20cm longer than mine and 10 deepers but no taller! So it'll measure 80cm long, 40cm deep but still only about 32cm high. I haven't found one yet.

Im just after something 48" by 18-24" by 18-24" I fancy setting up either a Malawi or CA Cichlid tank.

Several of us have custom tanks from ND Aquatics. Mine's the same 4x2x2 as markandhisfish has.

They are also bloody cheap too.
