Hi,

We recently aquired a second user Fluval Roma 200 tank and stand with External Fluval 205 cannister filter for £100. Not a bad deal I thought.

Anyway, the heater that came with it we are using, but I'd like to replace it as I think the previous owner negelcted cleaning everything properly and has a build up of some gunk I can not remove so I am looking to replace this and keep the original as a spare.

My question is, what is a decent heater? There are so many on the market. Is a fluval one good?

Also, my current one is a 200w heater. Should I consider upgrading that to say a 300w?

Thanks for your help

1 Watt per litre is the general rule of thumb, so yes, a 200 watt would be perfect. I use Interpet heaters in all my tanks, all came from pets at home, local, for me to return if it breaks.
