Heres a recent pic of my two foot freshwater after a big cut back of the plants:

What do you think?
I really went for it and chucked out loads. The heater you were not even able to see before but I've got a few background plants that will eventually grow back.

very cool

i like your snails

ive never seen crypts grow that high!

are those chain swords on the right ? and what are your floating plantS?

Yeh the crypts have grown well just recently. I've never cut them back since i got them months ago. I didnt realise they would grow that high but I guess they still make a good midground plant.

Floating plants:

The big floating one is Hydrocleis nyphaeoides and is planted down in the sand.

On the right is a dwarf sword and just behind it is a narrow sword which i chucked out loads of. And behind that is another lilly.

i think it look great! :D

When the plants grow to cover the heater itll be done lol.. so the lilies and floating plants block the light??

how big is this tank?

Whats the blueish thing under the snail on the right side of the tank?

I have a reflector behind the light to try and get as much light in as possible. It's kind of ideal for the anubias on the left at the top but the floating plants never sit there due to the current. :(

Tank is 63 UK litres, ~ 13 UK gallons.

Do you mean under the Red ramshorn? If so then its a purple apple snail.

Thanks for kind comments. :D

dam luv the floating pants , i like it , very good plus theres ample room in the middle for the fish to swim freely :good:

Nice tank!
Very healthy looking, and the fish have open areas to swim.
Love the apple snails... I have some too and I love when they climb up high, then jump (float) down like a parachute.

You gotta love that, you really do. :D They have to be the most amusing aquatic critter for me so far....

Looking Good Lynz,

The Floating plants have done well. B)
