I'm looking to have a grassy carpet in my tank can anyone reccomend something that would spread like this ?

HC is a good carpet plant along with Glosso, Utricularia Graminifolia and Eleocharis but to do a carpet well you'll need CO2 and full ferts.

What would full ferts consist of?? Tablets and liquid? I have used the jbl aquabasis fert and then then manado over it as substrate, I want a heavily planted tank so would it be worth investing in a co2 kit?

CO2 kits are great, I have 2,one for each of my fully planted and it works wonders, full ferts are liquid and contain nitrates and phosphates.:)

I've seen some kits that are over 500 quid, obviously I don't need to spend this much right ? Are there cheap ones out there that work just as good? Or I've also seen disposable ones, how do they work?

I don't really want to take that road, any other methods you could reccomend? Or a cheapish set?

DIY co2 system with bottles? I would recommend attaching a smaller bottle to the larger one, to ensure no yeast gunk gets into the tank. It might be cheaper, but maybe not in the long run because of the amount of sugar you have to use.

I'm sure there's a set up out there for about 50 euro I could get hold of, I don't mind spending the money, every 25 I spend in my lfs I get a stamp, every 10 stamps gets me 50 voucher for fish :D already have 1 and a half :D

There are a lot of options like hairgrass and many different plants to choose from. You can get fresh water plants from their plenty of varieties. Its easy to take care of water grass but you have to provide maximum amount of light and a specific temperature which is about 70 to 80 degrees.

Well I'm mid cycle and I'm giving 12 hours of light a day, and soon ill be getting a co2 set up but not for a few weeks will they be ok til then?

Off course but if you feel that it may not, use an electric bulb which will provide maxi9mum light and approximate heat also. Try to keep it in warm place.
