Hi all. I currently have a 180gal planted tank that I can never seem to get the CO2 levels high enough. The current reactor I have is only rated for 125gal and can only process 3 bubbles per second. I need to either add another one (can you split a CO2 line and do that?) or I need to find a bigger reactor.

I would prefer the bigger reactor route as I am not convinced this one is doing much. Can anyone reccomend a larger reactor? Or if you have another solution I would love to hear it!

Thanks

How about just using a ceramic/glass diffuser under the filter intake/outlet? Or a couple at opposite ends of the tank with a y splitter on the line. Many do and manage to get fairly high CO2 levels.

Is there a limit to the bubbles per second on the diffuser? And thank you for letting me know that I can in fact split my line up and get CO2 to two different reactors. I will keep looking into this.
Thanks

you can have have many BPS as you want,

Hav you thought about putting it under the filter intake? The bubbles get blown around the tank with the current then.

theres a new method involved a powerhead from a protein skimmer or one DIY'd with lots of tiny holes in the paddles, ive done this to a pump from an internal filter and made a DIY strainer to stop the fish getting sucked in but you can also use any of the maxi jet range which have a strainer supplied with it, it works amazingly well and i get bubbles up to 10x finer than my glass ceramic diffuser, the tank is filled with micro bubbles of co2, and for a extra large tank you could use 2.

ive heard some horror stories with this like it damaging impellors and make filters leak, also it will void a lot of manufacturers guarantee.

hahaha thats what i like to hear your right they wouldnt know ;) true but i wouldnt want my filter leaking all over the floor, had it with a cheap one, nottt gooodd, something about it building up the pressure i dunno? i just read it from someone elses post on a different forum, also ive heard you can get air building up at the base of the impellor till it runs dry, id recommend putting the diffuser as deep as you can at the bottom of a vertical spraybar.
