Hi everyone I'm looking for a little advice of stocking/rearrangement of fish. Firstly I am aware I am overstocked at the moment hence the 2nd tank coming in 2/3 weeks time - however a lot of the fish are juvies at only 1 - 2" in size atm. I am quite happy to rehome some of the fish if needed.

Tanks I will have available are - 5ft 380 litre tank, and a custom made tank which is just over 3ft 209 litres

Fish I have at present and would like to keep are:-
1 x Red Spot Severum
2 x Rotkeil Severum
4 x Ellioti - 3 of which are juvies at the moment
3 x geophagus jurupari/Satanoperca Leucosticta - no definate id yet still very small juvies
4 x red rainbows
4 x blue rainbows
2 x L182 Plecs
2 x Clown Loach

Fish I have and can/want to rehome -
5 x Misc. Rainbows
4 x Boesmani Rainbows
5 x Pearl Danios
4 x Zebra Danios
1 x Peppered Cory

Fish I have been eyeing up but know I am way overstocked at the moment
Sajica
Geophagus red head tapajos

So suggestions please, what would you do? Many thanks for looking and taking the time to advise.

imo the 2 rotkeils should be ok in the 5 footer as they will max out smaller than the red spot , but i rekon youre going to have to deciide which out of the sevs you want to keep as the 5 foot imo wouldnt be enough for all 3 and the other tank would be too small for either.

if it was me id probably go along the lines of

5 foot

2x rotkeils
2 elliotti
3 x geophagus
4x bosemain rainbows ( may up this 2 6 tho)
1 x L182 plec

and the other tank
2 elliotti
4 x red rainbows
4 x blue rainbows

Ok thanks for the suggestions Mark as none of the fish are adult size yet it isn't causing any problems but I know it will come if I don't sort something out. I was hoping to be able to stick with all the severums for a while as we are hoping to move house - when I don't know but I would hopefully be able to fit another 5ft/6ft tank in.

I have sorted out the danios and corys, they are going to my sisters next week hopefully. I may cut the number of Elliotti down when they are bigger, so I can have a different cichlid.

Any other suggestions welcome

Thanks

if the sevs are still juveniles then i see bo reason why you couldnt keep them all for now , but as you already know you will need either a big upgrade or a 2nd large tank in a few months. only trouble is with the sevs they are son endearing that by the time action is required you will be attaatched to them all and if you are not able to sort out the housing the decision of what to keep will be even harder .

Yeah the red spot is about 5-6" and the rotkiels are only 4" and 3" ish at the moment. I originally started the tank as a rainbow tank but then fell for the cichlids. And I have a over enthusiastic partner who keeps bringing me presents!!

I will be rehoming the misc. rainbows and the bosemanis for definate now.

So for now I am thinking 5ft:-
1 red spot sev
2 rotkeil sevs
3 x geos
4 x blue rainbows
1 x L182 Plecs

other tank
4 x Ellioti - 3 of which are juvies at the moment
4 x red rainbows

Would I be able to get a couple of sajica in the other tank or is this not big enough?

So I would need to rehome the misc. rainbows, bosemanis, 1 x L182, and the clown loach - I'm a bit stuck with these guys as they are my sons favourite fish and again are only about 2" so may hang on to these for a while.

All suggestions/ideas welcom

Thanks Lace
