Really Weird Fire Eel

K ive had a fire eel for about 3 years he seems in good health I have all the params are good never bad and the odd time i see him in his hidding home and hes upside down its really weird hes like this for a couple of hours. I got a dew worm and and gave it to him and he flips around grabs the worm and comes out of his home and hes fine.

Any other signs to go on like being bloated or skinny.
Check the anus is it enlarged or red and inflamed.
Any colour change to the eel.

well his colour has changed i put sand in so hes adjusting colour wise to the sand but he was upside down about 2 months ago even before i put the sand in.. just checked his anus and it seems to be fine as far as anuses go..hes really only done this twice like 2 months ago and today as soon as i put the worm in front of him he snaps out of it and hes back to normal or is he

How long do they live for? cant find any info saying age where do i go for the eel section?

5 years for the spiny eel.
