can i put real plant in my chiclid tank

Plus your tank is overstocked and had bad bad bad combanation of fish!
Way over crowded!

Agreed Your tank is overstocked, I would loose the catfish and come up with another combination of africans. The plans are a definate no african cichlids are herbivores. They will destroy the plants.

You can try tough leafed plants like annubias and java fern, they seem to do well with many cichlids. Since advice on stocking wasn't asked for I won't meantion anything except that if you're interested in why you've gotten those reactions, just ask.

wow I was told to buy it that the africans will probably pick at it and maybe eat it, but they love it. also I read to some where online that you can put up to 15 africans in a 30 gal tank and this is ok and would help keep aggression down from picking on one fish.
