Been Fishless cycle for 3 weeks now , Results....


PH - 8.0
Nitrite - 0
Ammonia - 0
Nitrate - 20ish

Is the PH abit too high?

PH at 8 will really only be a problem if you have any ammonia, as it will increase the toxicity if the PH is higher. My PH was 8 while i was cycling but has gone down to 7.2 - 7.4 now the cycle is complete. How long have you had 0's? I didnt do a fishless cycle but from what i have read on here, you have to dod a large, say 90% water change before adding fish. Like i say, i did my cycle fish-in so it works differently. Congrats on completing your cycle tho! GRJ

from what ive read the main thing to be conserned about with ph is that it is steady and doesnt bounce around too much
