Readings At The End Of The Week

Hiya,

I was wondering, even though most reconmend not testing the water much, what your water stats at the end of the week should be ?

I cant help feeling my plants arnt getting enough nitrate since I have been dosing 10ppm for 3 days (alternative days) and I get no reading what so ever !!

All my other stats nitrite and ammonia are also zero.

So what should be a good reading for the end of the week? Maybe it is zero but should I add a little more nitrate and see if they can still take it up as quickly ?

Even in a tank which you dont add any NO3 to should have a No3 reading when you test it, so it sounds like a duff test kit to me.

Apoligies, it does have a reading but its around 5ppm which is the lowest my test will go. However this is what every tank SHOULD read if kept in clean normal conditions.
