Hi

Newbie here - Im fishless cycling my tank and have bought the dip strips to test the various readings for the water quality. On the instructions its says leave for 1 minute then read the results. My question is do I take those colour results there and then, because if I leave it for longer the colours change?

hiya,

yes you need to take the readings at the alloted time, while they won't always change they can do if left.

however i have some bad news for you, unfortunatley the dip tests that you have bought are incredibly inaccurate and really are not going to give you the accuracy of readings that you need to complete youre fishless cycle.

if you can then return them to the shop you bought them from and try and buy some liquid test kits instead, either the API or Nutrafin one's are usually recommended.
